Waste: Commission requests DENMARK to enact EU rules on mining waste

Italy replied that enactment was expected by December 2013, before postponing enactment to February 2014.

Member States shall communicate to the Commission, in accordance with Article 8(1), all requests made to standards institutions to draw up technical specifications or a standard for specific products for the purpose of enacting a technical regulation for such products as draft technical regulations, and shall state the grounds for their enactment’.

The Council urges the countries of the region to enact and enforce anti-discrimination legislation to ensure fair and proportionate representation of minorities in employment, especially in public institutions; to provide adequate security conditions, non-discriminatory education and all other basic social services; to address remaining obstacles to return, most of which are related to repossession of property, reconstruction of destroyed property and resolution of the issue of lost tenancy/occupancy rights. Other third countries have either enacted relevant legislation and/or are currently testing using PNR data, i.e. Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Singapore. Several other third countries started considering the idea of using PNR, but have not yet enacted relevant legislation.

A majority of Member States have enacted or will enact reforms to reduce income taxes and social security contributions for labour, with reductions often targeted at the lower end of the wage scale.
