It is not for me to defend the position of the Spanish Government; I am not a member of that government or of its party, but it does concern me that such an important opportunity as the Thursday afternoon sitting, which is dedicated to situations of violations of human rights in the world, should be called into question by this kind of initiative that goes against the very spirit of these debates.
Es ist nicht meine Aufgabe, die Position der spanischen Regierung zu verteidigen; ich bin nicht Mitglied dieser Regierung oder dieser Partei, aber es bereitet mir Sorgen, dass eine so wichtige Gelegenheit wie die Donnerstagnachmittagssitzung, die für Fälle der Verletzung von Menschenrechten in der Welt bestimmt ist, durch solche Initiativen in Frage gestellt wird, die im Widerspruch zum eigentlichen Geist dieser Debatten stehen.
