transport in economic and trade relations between the European Community and third countries; REQUESTS the Commission to provide the Council as soon as possible with a communication on maritime relations with third countries, including the general guidelines it suggests in this area, and on priority actions to be undertaken, including in i
...[+++]nternational fora; the Council records its intention to hold detailed discussions on the basis of such communication as soon as it receives it; REQUESTS the Commission to submit to the Council as soon as possible a report on the Community action it proposes with regard to external relations with the countries of Western and Central Africa on maritime matters, taking into account the measures already taken, in particular the fact-finding mission entrusted to it by the Council at its meeting on 29 and 30 November 1993, and recent developments in this sector; EMPHASIZES the importance for the maritime policy of the Community and its Member States of the discussions in the Negotiating Group on Maritime Transport Services (NGMTS) currently taking place in the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the need to ensure consistency between these negotiations and Community policy guidelines in this sector in accordance with the principle of free and fair competition".RELATIONS EXTERIEUR

dans le domaine des transports maritimes ; CONSIDERANT l'importance des transports maritimes dans les relations économiques et commerciales entre la Communauté européenne et les pays tiers ; INVITE la Commission à fournir au Co
...[+++]nseil, dans les meilleurs délais, sa communication sur les relations maritimes avec les pays tiers comprenant les orientations générales qu'elle suggère en la matière et sur les actions prioritaires à mener, y compris au sein des instances internationales ; le Conseil marque son intention d'engager une discussion approfondie sur cette base, dès qu'il en disposera ; INVITE la Commission à soumettre au Conseil, dès que possible, un rapport sur l'action communautaire qu'elle propose au sujet des relations extérieures à entretenir avec les pays de l'Afrique de l'Ouest et du Centre en matière maritime, en prenant en compte les actions déjà menées, et notamment la mission d'information confiée par le Conseil lors de sa session des 29/30 novembre 1993, ainsi que les évolutions récentes dans ce secteur ; SOULIGNE l'importance pour la politique maritime de la Communauté et de ses Etats membres, des débats du Groupe de Négociation sur les Services de Transport Maritime (GNSTM) actuellement en cours au sein de l'Organisation Mondiale du Commerce (OMC), et la nécessité de veiller à la cohérence entre cette négociation et les orientations de la politique communautaire dans ce secteur, dans le respect du principe d'une concurrence libre et loyale".
