The European Commission has opened formal antitrust proceedings against the Lithuanian railway incumbent AB Lietuvos geležinkeliai ("LG") to investigate whether it limited competition on the rail markets in Lithuania and Latvia by removing a railway track, in breach of EU antitrust rules that prohibit the abuse of dominant market positions.
La Commission européenne a ouvert une procédure formelle d’examen contre l’opérateur ferroviaire historique lituanien AB Lietuvos geležinkeliai («LG») afin de vérifier si, en supprimant une voie de chemin de fer, ce dernier a restreint la concurrence sur les marchés ferroviaires lituanien et letton en violation des règles de l’UE en matière d’abus de position dominante.
